February and March Wrap Up
Hello fellow bookworms! How are you? How is your quarantine/isolation going? I don't think I'm struggling yet, but I definitely miss working in an office. I read nine books across February and March, which I think is quite an achievement considering a few of them had around five hundred pages.
5/5 Stars
The Starless Sea was one of my most anticipated reads ever. It was amazing. I loved it. There are no words to describe how beautiful Erin Morgenstern's writing is. Her storytelling is incredible and it was a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience.
Other Words for Smoke by Sarah Maria Griffin
3/5 Stars
This was a strange read. On the one hand, I loved the plot and the magic system. On the other, parts of the book were written in 2nd person (my least favourite point of view) and so reading Other Words for Smoke was often like wading through thick mud. It's a shame, because the plot is so promising but ultimately, I didn't enjoy it.
Seafire by Natalie C Parker
2/5 Stars
Seafire sounded like a really promising book about sisterhood, friendship and pirates. Ultimately, the execution was poor and the plot rather lacklustre. I generally wasn't interested in the characters and I found it really difficult to stay interested in where the story was going. Overall, Seafire was a disappointing read.
Eliza and her Monsters by Francesca Zappia
4/5 Stars
I loved Eliza and her Monsters! It was a quirky and imaginative standalone novel, with a strong plot and characters. I really loved the portrayal of fandoms in this book and found it so easy to relate to both Eliza and Wallace. I will definitely be rereading this!
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
4/5 Stars
This was amazing. I was a bit nervous going in because Sanderson is such a heavyweight when it comes to fantasy, but it was so easy and fun to read. It has everything you could want. I really, really enjoyed it and would thoroughly recommend it.
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
2/5 Stars
This was okay. There were parts that I enjoyed, but for the most part I was really disappointed. Sky in the Deep sounded so good in theory, but the execution was lacking, the plot and spacing was off and I didn't like most of the characters. Overall, it was quite boring and forgettable, so I will probably never read this again.
3/5 Stars
Ash is a retelling of Cinderella, but instead of falling for the prince, she falls for the King's Huntress. I actually quite liked this story and I really liked the growing romance between Ash and Kaisa. I think it's a fun, easy read and would recommend it.
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
5/5 Stars
I became interested in reading Good Omens after watching the series with David Tennant and Michael Sheen. I adore the show and I love the book just as much. It was wonderful to see how closely the adaption kept to the story and I loved the little extras like the added comments. Overall, Good Omens was a funny, brilliant novel and I can't wait to read it again.
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
3/5 Stars
This was a pretty good read. It is quite hard to get into and the writing style takes some getting used to, but overall it's quite satisfactory. I really enjoyed seeing a dystopian novel from the point of a bystander and not a Katniss figure.
Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas
Confession time - I still haven't finished reading Crescent City, but I thought I would include it because I did get through a hefty chunk of the book. I'm really enjoying it so far; the world is incredible and the characters are amazing - but really it's Sarah J Maas - did we ever expect anything less?

Final Thoughts
Overall, I think that February and March strongly followed January and December in the amount of books I've managed to read. It's really nice to be kicking my TBR pile's butt after my book slump. As always full reviews of each book will be coming but for now, here are my final thoughts.
My joint favourite books of the month are The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern and Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
My least favourite book was Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young and my favourite book cover was Skyward, which was illustrated by Sam Green.
Have you read any of the books mentioned in this post? If you have, let me know in the comments section what you thought of each of them and tell me what your favourite part was.
